Sorry, no foul… just mad ups and aggressiveness by D-Will. He jumps after Witherspoon gets to the top of his jump, (if you have the nerve to call that ^^ elevation) and still has the block coming DOWN on the ball before Witherspoon can fully release. The refs ALWAYS favor the aggressor in college basketball, and everyone knows this! More importantly, you can clearly see Witherspoon throw his weak elbow out into William’s chest, desperately trying to “initiate” contact. Too bad, so sad…
How is that a blow call? That is a great block. The offensive player was tentative and the defensive player made a great read on the shot. If the Memphis guy would have gone up strong and put his body between the defender and the ball then it would have been a foul. Instead it was the defensive play making a great play and going straight for the ball against a timid putback.
Jim Burr the Ref swallowed his whistle when he should’ve been blowing it. This is the same Ref that blew the St. John’s-Rutgers Big East second-round game Wednesday at Madison Square Garden by walking off the court and not making a call at the end of the game.
and surprisingly, when someone actually does visit your site and comment (for the first time in 9 days) it goes unposted.. what, not what you wanted to hear? waa.. terrible site!!
It wasn’t the body that prevented that shot from going in. It was Williams elbow and forearm swatting the shot away. The shot didn’t have a prayer and the no call was the right call.
The lesser foul was the one on this vidoe…the original foul was with the player going over Witherspoons’ back on the rebound….We will take this call and move on…but watch out when this happens to some other team…Memphis has a great coach who is more interested in kids lives and learning life lessons..Not like others who cry and cause all kind of trouble….Go Tigers.
Unforgivable heard at least 1 of these refs blew big east tourney game
please delete this. depresses me more
Jim Burr should not have been officiating in the NCAA tourney. Several calls and/or non-calls by him sunk the Tigers. Memphis was the better team.

Definate contact with elbow of Witherspoon. Should have been 2 freethrows that might have changed the outcome.
No foul there folks
Good No Call.
Monster block…go home Tigers…good game
Retire Jim Burr now!!!
For there to be a “blown call,” there must be a “call.”
Definite foul.
It could have gone either way. Memphis needs to stop bitching
What an injustice! I was there. It should not come to this!
I’m sorry… was this supposed to reveal that there was a foul? Because this seems to provide evidence that it definitely was not.
looks like a great block – good no call by the ref.
not the only bad call against Memphis in this game…think the officiating determined the outcome of who advanced to the next round here.
100% legit. Can’t call anything on that at the end of the game.

WOW. That’s pathetic. Same ending as the Texas game. Way to go refs.
